Building the Binder Design Excel (part 1)

In parallel with work on the Rose-a-Roc — now that I have my fin fixture — I’ve started on my level 1 rocket, the Binder Design Excel.

Packaging for this kit is interesting, to me at least: various parts groups are contained in separate compartments of a big plastic bag.

IMG_3756 I opted for the 38 mm motor mount, which is the first thing the instructions tell you to work on, and I did. Just the very first step: gluing the thrust ring onto the rear end of the motor tube.IMG_3757I’d like to finish this considerably sooner than August, so I’m going to try not to neglect it the way I have the Rose-a-Roc. June launch? Maybe.
