A month ago I said, “Any rockets I don’t finish in October probably won’t be finished until May next year or later. I’d hoped to get more of the rockets left from last year done by now; I’m pessimistic about finishing them all this month.” Well… did I?
- Level 1 certification Did that in June.
- Fly an I motor Did that in August.
- Put an entry (however pathetic) into at least four club launch contests and four club launch themes Did not fly a multi-stage rocket for the October theme — then again, neither did anyone else! (Due to weather, attendance and number of flights were both low, and multistage rockets were particularly not an attractive proposition.) Flew the Metalizer in the contest, though it DQed. This makes 6 contests, 5 themes entered.
- NARTREK Silver Not finished this month, maybe November.
- Complete all rockets in progress or in the build pile as of 1 Jan 2015 (see first 10 entries in table below) Completed MLAS, Fat Boy, and Micro Fat Boy. Made progress on Xarconian Cruiser, the last of the lot! I should be able to finish it in November, or December at worst, barring catastrophe.
- Adhere to a budget Still staying ahead.
- Fly lots of stuff 1 flight (1 motor; 8.82 N-s) in August; 38 flights (42 motors; 1040.80 N-s) for the year. Not exactly lots (due to weather and LCO duty).
- Have fun This month’s launch was better than expected. Decent meeting, and building went well.
